Updated Azure Adapter released

Cloud CSC Blogs

Last week, the CSC Agility Platform team released an update for the Microsoft Azure integration. We have had a formal integration with Azure for quite some time now, but due to an update by Microsoft within Azure — specifically a new integration option entitled Resource Manager — we updated our integration.

The updated Azure Adapter is versioned 3.0.0 and has been certified against Agility Platform 10.1.1.  With this update, our customers are able to deploy workloads to Microsoft Azure Cloud and leverage the new Resource Manager features.  There is also support for Azure Network Security Groups, which allow segmentation of an Azure Virtual Network for both inbound and outbound traffic of a virtual machine.

Without going through all of the features of the Azure adapter, here are some highlights.

  • Able to discovers network assets, models, instances, etc.
  • Provides the ability to Start, Stop, Restart, etc. of Windows/Linux images
  • Management of Volume and Storage features, such as Creating, Attaching, etc.
  • Within Azure Network Security Groups (NSG), assign VMs to NSGs, restricts traffic according to NSG rules and several other capabilities.

Customers who have the Agility Platform installed within their own Data Center(s) can upgrade to the newest version of Agility and/or updated adapters.  Please refer to the documentation to review which versions of the Agility Platform the Adapters have been certified against; an upgrade of Agility may be required.

For customers using CSC managed Cloud offerings, such as BizCloud or CSC Hybrid Cloud, please discuss this with your account representative since those CSC Services follow a separate schedule for updating the platform and the unique services they provide.
