Examples from DXC’s 2018 Corporate Responsibility report: How to thrive — sustainably

This week, DXC Technology released our new Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Report. This extensively detailed report provides insights into something that has become a tremendous source of pride for our employees, clients and other stakeholders — the way we, as a global enterprise, place our commitment to corporate responsibility at the heart of our business.

With a theme of “Thrive. Sustainably.” the new report shares stories of how our employees work together to safeguard the health of our environment, help clients realize their visions of digital transformation and seek to accelerate progress for people and their communities around the world. Here are just a few examples that demonstrate how important sustainability continues to be for the global DXC team:

  • Significant Carbon Reduction. Reflecting our focus on environmental sustainability, we achieved a reduction of almost 12% in absolute energy consumption and over 15% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in the first year of our current carbon reduction plan.
  • Historic Medical Archive. We provide targeted support to a historic effort by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) to gather data to help researchers study how biological, environmental and lifestyle differences shape individuals’ health.
  • Dedicated to Neurodiversity. With the DXC Dandelion Program, we help people on the autism spectrum find rewarding careers in cybersecurity, data science, software testing and other IT disciplines.
  • Mentoring Tomorrow’s Technologists. Through the DXC Foundation, we have helped more than 1,700 young people from 14 countries engage with the DXC Codes program to learn STEM skills via exciting challenges.

The more we apply the principle of sustainability in all areas of DXC, the greater our ability to keep the promises we make as a responsible corporate citizen, whether we are creating professional opportunities for our people over the long term, building client partnerships that endure or ensuring the vitality of ecosystems and communities.

“As a technology leader, we know firsthand how digital innovations like predictive analytics can heal patients faster, artificial intelligence can automate carbon reduction and cloud solutions can generate cost savings for organizations to invest in humanitarian endeavors.”
— Mike Lawrie, Chairman, President and
 Chief Executive Officer, DXC Technology
