DXC Vietnam’s commitment to corporate responsibility was very evident in 2020. The most recent of the many initiatives it undertook last year was to provide major relief to two rural districts in Thua Thien Hue central province after a series of devastating floods.

In October massive downpours triggered the floods – Vietnam’s most severe in decades. Thousands of homes were submerged, crops were destroyed, livestock were swept away and local roads overflowed. As of early November, 43 people were counted dead or missing in the central region of Vietnam.

That month a DXC Vietnam volunteer team traveled to Phong Dien and Quang Dien, to help local residents affected by the disaster.

In Quang Dien, the DXC Vietnam team presented much-needed supplies and funding to 50 families to help them recover.

In December, DXC Vietnam also successfully presented supplies (warm jackets, DXC bags, school uniforms, fresh milk) and stationery to 242 children currently studying at Phuoc Kim Primary School in Phuoc Kim commune, Quang Nam province. We have also donated a purified water system for the school and presented 27 teachers with appreciation gifts.

Fighting the global crisis

Earlier this year DXC Vietnam began donating money and supplies to help strengthen local health crisis-relief efforts and support underprivileged families with groceries, medicine, healthcare and other much-needed resources in this challenging time.

In the Hung Phuoc Pagoda in Ben Tre province, we provided helmets, face masks, hand sanitizer and thermal bottles for the 60 underprivileged children who are housed and educated there. We also contributed milk, cooking oil, detergent, stationery and school uniforms and donated additional funds to help the center cover its educational costs.

We hope our relief efforts will help the children and families in these districts begin to recover from these events.

Certificate of Merit

Corporate responsibility has always been a big part of our culture. It’s at the heart of what the whole company does.

DXC Vietnam was recently honored with a corporate social responsibility Certificate of Merit 2020 from The Saigon Times Group. The award recognizes and honors enterprises that have made significant and meaningful contributions to the prosperous and sustainable development of Vietnam’s community. Thanks to all members of DXC Vietnam for all their outstanding achievements this year.
